Café Map

Terms of Use

In force since October 23, 2026

Draft under legal review: the text may change before launch.

These Terms of Use govern your use of Café Map, the app and the website cafemap.app that help you find specialty coffee shops. By creating an account or using Café Map, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Café Map is provided by TECHLAB SOLUÇÕES DIGITAIS LTDA, Brazilian company registration (CNPJ) 57.243.879/0001-10, with its registered office at Rua São Cristóvão, 817, Sala 03, Zona 08, Maringá/PR, Brazil, postal code 87050-490 (“Café Map”, “we”, “us”).

To reach us, use Help in the app or write to [email protected].

2. Who can use Café Map

To create an account you must be at least 18 years old and able to accept these Terms. Anyone can browse coffee shops without an account.

If you use Café Map on behalf of a coffee shop or company, you confirm that you are authorized to represent it, and these Terms also apply to it.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or, if you prefer, with your Google or Apple account. We do not use passwords for user accounts.

You choose your name. Reviews and other public content show a short display name, such as your first name and the initial of your last name.

Keep access to your email and your device secure: anyone with access to them can sign in to your account. Let us know if you suspect misuse.

The information you give us must be true. Do not create accounts in someone else's name or more than one account to get around the rules.

4. What you can do on Café Map

• Find coffee shops by location, address and filters, and see opening hours, photos, beans and reviews.

• Save favorite cafés and make lists, private or public. A public list has a link that can be shared, and other people can follow it.

• Write reviews with a few photos, which are public.

• Check in at a coffee shop. Your device's location is used only at that moment, to confirm you are near the café, and is not stored.

• Take part in stamp events, tell us when a café's information is out of date, ask our team for help, and receive notifications and messages in the app's inbox.

We may change, improve or discontinue features, and we aim to give notice in advance when a change matters to you.

5. Your content

The reviews, photos, list names, replies and updates you publish remain yours. By publishing them, you grant Café Map a non-exclusive, royalty-free license, valid while the content stays published, to display, reproduce and adapt it (for example, resize photos) within the service, in the app and on the website.

You confirm that you hold the rights to what you publish, including the photos, and that the content is based on your own experience.

If you delete your account, you can choose to delete your reviews or keep them anonymized, with no data that identifies you.

6. Moderation

Before it is published, every public text and photo (reviews, coffee shop replies, list names, display names and café updates) goes through an automatic check by an artificial intelligence model. Anything held back is reviewed by our team.

We may refuse, hide or remove content that breaks these Terms or the law, and suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated violations. If you disagree with a decision, contact us through Help.

7. What is not allowed

• Posting fake reviews, reviewing your own coffee shop or a competitor's, or offering or accepting benefits in exchange for reviews.

• Harassing, threatening, discriminating against or inciting hatred toward any person or group.

• Posting illegal content, content that infringes the rights of others or that exposes other people's personal data.

• Sending spam or unsolicited advertising.

• Collecting data from the service by automated means (scraping), getting around technical limits or trying to access areas without authorization.

• Cheating in events or with QR codes, for example using someone else's code or faking visits.

• Impersonating another person, coffee shop or company.

8. Stamp events and prizes

In stamp events, the coffee shop's staff scan your account's QR code to record your visit. When they scan it, the staff see your name or initials.

Each event has its own rules page, which sets out who organizes it, how to win and how prizes are delivered. Prizes are offered and delivered by the coffee shops or the organizers under those rules. If there is a conflict about an event, the event's rules prevail.

We may cancel stamps and entries obtained by fraud.

9. Coffee shops and the people who run them

Coffee shop pages are created by us from public information. The person responsible for a coffee shop can claim its page after a manual verification by our team and then manage it: edit its information, reply to reviews (replies are moderated too), post short updates and see aggregated numbers of views and taps.

Whoever manages a coffee shop is responsible for the accuracy of what they publish and for the products, services and prizes they offer. They may not use replies or updates to pressure review authors, nor use customer data obtained through Café Map for other purposes.

The coffee shop's contact details shown on its page (such as phone, address and social media) are business data and may be shown publicly.

10. Coffee shop information and sponsored placements

We do our best to keep information accurate, but opening hours, prices, menus and other details may be out of date. When in doubt, check directly with the coffee shop. If you find something wrong, use “Outdated info?” on the café's page.

Some coffee shops may appear in sponsored positions, always labeled as such. Sponsorship does not change reviews or ratings.

We do not show third-party ads and we do not sell your data.

11. Purchases

In the future we plan to let you buy products from coffee shops, such as coffee beans. If and when this is offered, purchases will have their own additional terms, which you will need to accept before buying.

12. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app. The account is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after 30 days. If you sign in again within that period, the deletion is cancelled.

You can also, at any time, use “Download my data” in the app to receive a copy of your data.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or the law, giving the reason whenever this is possible and permitted.

13. Responsibilities

Café Map is a discovery service. We are not responsible for the coffee shops' products, services, prices or customer service, nor for delivering event prizes, which is up to the coffee shops and organizers.

We provide the service as is and work to keep it available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code or any other applicable law.

14. Changes, governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are versioned. When they change materially, the app will ask you to read and accept the new version before continuing.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. The courts of Maringá/PR are chosen as the forum, without prejudice to your right, as a consumer, to bring a claim in the courts of your own domicile.
